Midget AA Playing At The Stadium in Ottawa

On Sunday June 27th, the Midget AA Lac St Louis Yankees will have the privilege of playing at the former Ottawa Lynx Stadium in Ottawa. It is currentlythe home field of the Ottawa Fat Cats from the CANAM league. This stadium has a capacity of over 10,000 seats and is well-known as one of the best stadium in Canada.

This is the web site of the world famous , Lac St.Louis Yankees . As we start a new decade for the Yankees AA organization , the coming years will be full of challenges .

We closed our 10th anniversary with one of our best year ever in 2009 , with all our 5 teams playing over 0.500 , all reaching the semi finals , three teams making the finals with our Bantam Minor team coached by Sandro DeFanti , and our Midget team coached by Fred Majeur winning the Montreal Metro championships in very exciting baseball . Unfortunately our Pee Wee Major team lost the best of 5 games championship series 3-1 .

We also had one of our player's winning the batting title at the Pee Wee Major level ( Cyrus Senior ) . The two championships almost matches the three won in 2006 ( we had 7 teams versus 5 in 2009 ). Our success was recognized by the League as we won for the first time ever the coveted Gladu trophy as the winningness organization in the League during the season + Administrative Organization of the Year , as the best run AA organization in the League .

All these awards could not have happened without the great board members of the past and the present such as : Sylvie Grondin , Sylvain Morissette & Johanne Raymond , the talent of our players and coaching staff , and the commitment from our parents. I wish to say thank you and good luck to Sylvie Grondin for all the hours she put on the Board since 2007 as she decides to spend those hours in MD AAA watching her son Joel , and welcome new Board members Lise Goodine ( events ) and Fred Majeur ( equipment ).

We welcome a new crop of baseball players and parents ( born in 1998 and the new players ) that joins our organization , as we can only guaranty that the caliber of baseball is the best around , and they will definitively be challenged.
 Speaking of challenges , as we start a new era and a new decade , we have to make sure that our players are well coached , disciplined , challenged in a fun environment . Also , since last year the consolidation continues as the Lanaudiere region is now one Association called Elites de Lanaudiere. So , we continue running our Lac St.Louis region with two teams : the Cards and the YANKEES.

We have 5 teams at 3 different levels . Pee Wee ( b. 1997 & 1998 ) , Bantam ( b. 1995 & 1996 ) , and Midget AA ( b. 1992 , 1993 & 1994 ). We compete in the very strong Montreal Metropolitain League , that covers regions from Ottawa to Repentigny , with most teams in the Greater Montreal region. Our Lac St. Louis Yankees region are the best baseball players from Valleyfield to Lachine covering 7 Baseball Associations.

I would like to wish a great 2010 season to all our teams , players , coaches and parents . May the summer bring fun , great competitive baseball and safe trips all over our league.
